Day 1: Paro to Jele Dzong

  • Start the trek from the Ta Dzong (National Museum) in Paro.
  • Trek uphill through blue pine forests and rhododendron trees.
  • Reach Jele Dzong, an ancient fortress perched on a ridge.
  • Camp overnight near Jele Dzong, enjoying panoramic views of Paro Valley.

Day 2: Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha

  • Begin the day with a gradual ascent through alpine meadows and yak herder camps.
  • Cross the Jele La Pass (3,490 meters), offering spectacular views of Mount Jomolhari and other snow-capped peaks.
  • Descend through dwarf rhododendron trees to reach Jangchulakha.
  • Camp overnight at Jangchulakha, surrounded by pristine nature.

Day 3: Jangchulakha to Jimilangtso

  • Trek through dwarf rhododendron trees and cross several small streams.
  • Ascend gradually to reach the Jimilangtso Lake, known for its crystal-clear waters.
  • Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
  • Camp overnight near Jimilangtso Lake, soaking in the tranquility of the Himalayan wilderness.

Day 4: Jimilangtso to Simkotra Tsho

  • Continue the trek along the ridge, passing through yak herder camps and alpine meadows.
  • Trek downhill to reach the scenic Simkotra Tsho (Sand Ox Lake).
  • Explore the area around the lake and relax amidst the natural beauty.
  • Camp overnight near Simkotra Tsho, enjoying the serenity of the high mountains.

Day 5: Simkotra Tsho to Phajoding

  • Begin the day with a steep climb to Phume La Pass (4,210 meters), the highest point of the trek.
  • Descend through forests of blue pine and juniper trees to reach Phajoding.
  • Visit Phajoding Monastery, a sacred site with panoramic views of Thimphu Valley.
  • Camp overnight near Phajoding Monastery, experiencing the tranquility of the mountains.

Day 6: Phajoding to Thimphu

  • Trek downhill through dense forests of rhododendron and oak trees.
  • Descend to the outskirts of Thimphu, passing through small villages and farmlands.
  • Reach Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, and transfer to your hotel.
  • Enjoy a well-deserved hot shower and hearty meal in Thimphu.
  • Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 7: Thimphu Sightseeing

  • Explore the highlights of Thimphu, including the National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma Statue, and Tashichho Dzong.
  • Visit the local markets and shops to shop for souvenirs and handicrafts.
  • Optional activities include visiting the National Textile Museum and Folk Heritage Museum.

Day 8: Departure from Thimphu
