Day 1: Arrival in Bumthang

  • Arrive in Bumthang, also known as the cultural heartland of Bhutan.
  • Transfer to your accommodation and rest after your journey.
  • Visit Jakar Dzong, an ancient fortress overlooking the valley, and explore its intricate architecture.
  • Dinner and overnight stay in Bumthang.

Day 2: Jakar to Ngang Lhakhang

  • Begin your trek from Jakar, passing through picturesque villages and terraced fields.
  • Visit Wangdicholing Palace, once the residence of Bhutan's royal family.
  • Continue trekking to Ngang Lhakhang, a 16th-century temple known for its stunning location.

Day 7: Paro-Haa Excursion (2.5 hrs)

  • Visit the temples of Dzongdrakha on foot: Temple is situated on the western region of Paro Valley on the Cliffside and often referred as “Mini Taktsang” of Bhutan.
  • Chelela Pass at 3988m: Highest motor-able road pass connecting two districts Paro and Haa, an elevation of 3988m above the sea level. On clear days, one can enjoy view of the most sacred Mt. Jomolhari (7314m).
  • En-route, hike to Kila Gompa nunnery: Kila Nunnery also called Chele La Gompa has around 100 nuns, seven little temples and several residential buildings that straddle on the cliff-side facing Paro. Overnight in Paro

Day 8: Paro Sightseeing

  • Taktsang Monastery (Tiger Nest Temple) The name Taktsang translates to “The Tiger’s Nest”. The temple is one of the holiest sites in Bhutan which clings impossibly to a sheer cliff face 900 meters above the valley. 
  • Kyichu Lhakhang: Temple considered sacred Jewel of Bhutan was established by the Buddhist King Songstsen Gampo of Tibet to overcome the giant ogress that laid across Tibet and Himalayas preventing the spread of Buddhism.
  • Hot stone bath with dinner at the farmhouse: Hot stone bath is very unique which offers great medicinal values.

Day 9: Departure from Paro

This itinerary allows you to experience the cultural heritage of Bumthang while trekking through its stunning landscapes, providing a truly unforgettable adventure in the heart of Bhutan.
