The Jomolhari Trek is one of Bhutan’s most iconic and visually rewarding trekking adventures. Known for its stunning close-up views of Mt. Jomolhari (7,314m)—revered as the Mountain Goddess by locals—this 9-day moderate trek combines pristine nature with cultural immersion.
Beginning in Gunitsawa village (Paro) and ending in Dodena (Thimphu), the trail traverses remote yak-herding valleys, crosses majestic alpine passes, and explores one of the most beautiful base camps in the Himalayas—Jangothang.
With altitudes ranging from 2,500m to almost 5,000m, trekkers are treated to diverse landscapes, blue poppies, rhododendron forests, and possible sightings of snow leopards, blue sheep, and Himalayan monals.
